Description

LBSR’s claims lay adjacent to the Pebble mine, a world-class joint project by Northern Dynasty Minerals (ticker: NAK) and Anglo-American. The Pebble mine is thought to be the largest in North America, and possibly the world, with enough copper and gold to provide 25% of U.S. needs for the next 50+ years . Actual drill cores and other testing have proven this to be the case, and exploration is ongoing.

Thanks to a ZTEM study done recently, LBSR's claims are thought to contain 6 to 7 times the assets of nearby Pebble. Northern Dynasty has proposed a 60/40 joint venture with Liberty Star, to provide $10M over the next six years. Negotiations are now pending.

Northern Dynasty Minerals was created by Hunter Dickinson (HDI)

ZTEM survey completed by Geotech, Ltd.

Projects

Big Chunk/Bonanza Hills in Alaska (Gold/Copper/Molybdenum)

 Big Chunk Super Project

Exclusive mineral exploration rights held by wholly-owned Alaskan subsidiary Big Chunk Corp

The property consists of 707 mining claims known as the Big Chunk claims, covering approximately 177 square miles (about 270,000 acres) of southwestern Alaska. Liberty Star's 2009/2010 ZTEM exploration program has yielded indications of porphryr copper and gold.

On July 8, 2010, Liberty Star announced a new partnership with Northern Dynasty Minerals Ltd. Liberty Star sold 13% of its Alaska acreage (23.4 square miles) to Northern Dynasty. The two companies expect to finalize an agreement that includes a definitive earn in option for Northern Dynasty and a joint venture agreement that sees a 60/40 split for Northern Dynasty and Liberty Star.
